Owner and officiant. Sixteen years of this.

 

Bronwen started Shotgun Ceremonies in 2010 and spent the first ten years of it on First Avenue in Pioneer Square. In 2020 (thanks, Covid) the building closed and everyone in it had to go.

For about a month after that she performed weddings on her own porch, because nobody in the city was showing commercial space and there was nowhere else to put a chapel. Eventually she started asking Facebook neighborhood groups where a wedding chapel could possibly go. People kept saying the Georgetown Trailer Park Mall, which meant nothing to her at the time.

Then the owner of the Trailer Park Mall got in touch. She walked Bronwen out to a shipping container being used for storage, a small gazebo and a trailer. In the middle of a pandemic, an open air space with a container next to it was not a compromise. It was the answer.

The container got emptied out, painted pink and filled with church pews. Six years later it is where most of our weddings happen. Read the whole story.

She’s officiated thousands of weddings (yes, even in costume), danced down aisles, wrangled dogs-as-ring-bearers, and made sure every couple feels like they’re doing their day their way. Whether you're eloping in a hurry or planning the most laid-back wedding ever, Bronwen’s mission is the same: make it meaningful, fun and stress-free.

 

Her work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Evening Magazine, City Dog Magazine, KOMO News, The Seattle Times, the book 111 Places in Seattle That You Must Not Miss and Seattle Times "Georgetown" featured story from July, 2026. She’s officiated weddings in the rain, in bar booths, on porches, in sequins, with and without Elvis and always with heart.
