elope in seattle

Two people, a license and about an hour. That is the whole plan.

Most weddings are a project.

eloping is the other option

Most weddings are a project. Twelve months, a spreadsheet, a seating chart, a number that keeps going up and a growing sense that the day belongs to everybody but the two of you.

Eloping is the other option. You bring your marriage license. We provide a licensed officiant, a pink shipping container chapel in Georgetown, witnesses if you need them and your music - we use Spotify. We file the paperwork for you afterward. If you'd like a copy of the filed certificate, same-day, we'll walk you through how to do that (its simple).

There is nothing to plan. It costs $500 ($750 if you want Elvis). You walk in engaged and you walk out married, usually in under an hour.

The facts you need.

what eloping here looks like

You arrive.

Our chapel and outdoor gazebo are located in Georgetown, a historic neighborhood in the heart of Seattle.

We'll say hello, go over a few options to cater your ceremony to your vibe, for example: do you want to walk down the aisle, would you like to do a ring exchange, hold flowers, etc.) We'll take a minute to make sure you are not nervous, though most people are a little nervous and that is fine.

You get married.

The ceremony runs 10 to 30 minutes, depending on how much you want to say. You choose the music. We have a fun, unique ceremony and you'll have an opportunity to say something to one another. You can write your own vows, say something off the cuff or pass on saying anything. Guests are welcome. So are pets (we love dogs!)

You sign, we file, you leave married. We take photos on your phone or ours if you want them on social media.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

(HINT: PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING)

  • A licensed officiant who has been doing this since 2010

  • The ceremony, in our chapel or our outdoor gazebo

  • Witnesses, provided if you do not have your own

  • Your music, cued up the way you want it

  • Photos on your phone or ours

  • Two take-a-shot-at-love souvenir shot glasses

  • Your marriage license signed and filed with the county

THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE TO DO FIRST

(AND HOW TO DO IT)

Get your marriage license. It costs $169 in King County, you can start online, and one of you needs to appear in person to finish it.

Washington then makes you wait three days before the license is valid. Once it is valid, you have 60 days to use it, anywhere in the state.

That is the only deadline in this entire process. We wrote a full walkthrough of it here.

Already have a valid license? Call us. We can often marry you the same day.

Why plan bigger, just pull the trigger. Come elope with us in Seattle.
