This is how you can be
Legally Married in 10 Minutes
Sign Only Sundays is a legal marriage license signing at our chapel counter in Seattle, the first Sunday of each month. No ceremony. No vows past the part the state requires. No photographer, no decor, no Elvis. We’ll have music playing in the background. You come in with your license, you both say yes, everybody signs, and you leave legally married. $300 cash or $325 by credit card.
If you don't want a wedding ceremony and you aren't looking for a specific date, our Sign Only Sunday is the right path. No reservation or advance booking required. If you DO NOT want a ceremony but DO want to book a specific date, please book our Shotgun Ceremonies wedding and indicate "sign only" in the booking notes.

Sign Only Sundays
When, Where, How
WHEN: The first Sunday of every month, 12PM - 3PM | (Currently scheduled dates: October 4, November 1)
WHERE: Shotgun Ceremonies, 5805 Airport Way S, Seattle, inside Georgetown Trailer Park Mall
HOW IT WORKS: Walk-ins only. No appointments and nothing booked ahead. First come, first served, about ten minutes per couple.
COST: $300 by cash or cash app (Venmo, CashApp, Zelle). $325 by credit card.
WHAT TO BRING: Your valid Washington State marriage license and the person you are marrying. That's it.
WITNESSES: We provide your two required witnesses. You do not need to bring anyone.
What Actually Happens

You walk up to the counter in our shipping container chapel.

We confirm your license is valid.

You both consent to being married out loud (this is a legal requirement we cannot skip). You can say something heartfelt or just leave it to us.

You sign, our two witnesses sign and Bronwen signs as your officiant. We'll take a few photos (if you want).

You leave married and we file the paperwork with the proper Washington State county.
Start to finish it takes about ten minutes.

WHO THIS IS FOR
We have heard every version of this over sixteen years. A few of the common ones:

You already had the wedding. It was in Tulum or in your backyard or officiated by a friend who is not licensed, and now you need the legal part handled.

There is a medical reason. Surgery, a diagnosis, an insurance enrollment window. You need to be spouses and you need it this week.

You are buying a house or filing taxes together and the paperwork is the only reason you are here.

Immigration paperwork requires proof of a legal marriage.

You have been together a long time and never made it legal, and you would rather not make a production of it now.

You are introverted and have no desire to be the center of attention in a ceremony.

You do not love the institution of marriage but it would make your life easier. (That is a completely fine reason.)
Whatever the reason, we're here to make sure it is done properly and that it is legal.
What you do not get
Being straight with you saves everybody a Sunday. From noon - 3 on these Sign Only Sundays, there is:

No personal vows (I can still ask a few questions to make it fun and memorable if you are okay with that)

No processional

No custom music playlist (we'll have music playing in the background)

No ceremony photography (but we'll still take a few pictures for you if you want)

No Elvis

No guest seating
If you want any of the details above, we’d love to have you book a regular ceremony instead and we will do it properly. This is the bare bones version on purpose.
Can't make the 12 - 3 window? Call 206.372.3349. On those Sundays there may be room between other scheduled weddings and Bronwen can sometimes fit you in outside of the 12-3 window. Worth a call.
And if the first Sunday does not work at all, we do signings any day by appointment at our regular rate. This price and this format only run on the first Sunday, 12 - 3.
About your license
You need a valid Washington State marriage license, which is provided by any county in Washington State, before you come. Two things to know:

There is a three day waiting period. The license is not valid until three days after it is issued, so you cannot get it Friday and use it Sunday.

It expires sixty days after issue.
For October 4 that means you need your license application fully submitted by September 30. In Seattle, you can apply at the King County Recorder’s Office. (You can use a valid license from any county in Washington State.) The license fee is $169 and is paid to the county, separate from what you pay us.
If you show up with an expired license or one issued within the last two days, we cannot sign it that day. Nobody wants that.
